Volkswagen Safety Highlights

Front Assist With Pedestrian Monitoring

Front Assist uses radar sensors to scan for possible collisions with other cars and pedestrians. If a vehicle suddenly cuts in front of you or a pedestrian steps unexpectedly out onto the street, an audible warning will alert you to the danger so that you can react as quickly as possible. Front Assist will increase the braking pressure to help you stop quickly and can even brake automatically.

Parking Steering Assistant (Park Assist)

If you’re traveling under 12 mph, Park Assist can identify a compatible parallel or perpendicular parking spot and will help guide you into the space by taking over the steering function. All you have to do is follow the prompts to shift, accelerate and brake as Park Assist steers you into the space.

Rear Traffic Alert

It can be difficult to reverse out of your parking space with such limited visibility of what lies behind you. Rear Traffic Alert scans for cars in the vicinity who may be approaching too quickly or may be passing your car. If a car is detected, an alert will prompt you to hit the brakes until it is determined safe to leave your parking space.

Lane Departure Warning (Lane Assist)

With Lane Assist, your Volkswagen will utilize cameras to scan lane markings and detect if you may be drifting unintentionally into another lane. Once detected, the system will alert you with an audible and visual warning as the system countersteers you safely back into your lane.

Forward Collision Warning

If a car suddenly cuts you off or stops unexpectedly, Forward Collision Warning will prompt you to react by increasing brake sensitivity and emitting an audible and visual alert. When necessary, Autonomous Emergency Braking can even apply the brakes automatically to avoid or mitigate a collision.

Blind Spot Monitor

With Blind Spot Monitor, you can safely merge and change lanes without fear of surprises. This feature will alert you of a potential collision and if no response is detected, Autonomous Emergency Braking will be activated to help you avoid a collision as you return safely to your lane.
